Greetings Ford Enthusiasts!!!
Spring
is here, summer fun is just around the corner.
It’s time for America’s premiere Ford event. The Mid-America Ford Performance and Shelby Meet is the
longest-running, multi-faceted event in the world. We have something for everyone and it’s great family fun.
Mid-America is a convention of conventions. In addition, we offer a major
SAAC concours and popular vote show.
The dates for attending Mid-America 32 are June 8-11,
2006. Our headquarters will
be the Tulsa Marriott Southern Hills, located just south of I-44 at the Lewis
exit. For those not able to
withstand every fast paced moment, the hotel is close to major shopping areas,
restaurants, museums, parks, and other entertainments.
We will have a guest and keynote speaker for the Ford Enthusiasit.. You will also be pleased to see very special cars from Ford Division, Ford SVT, Roush, Steeda, Shelby American, and others.
Wednesday we open the event in the afternoon as a relaxed, get
ready to go day, because we start really early Thursday.
This day gives you the opportunity to pick up your registration materials
and enter you can in the car show before the rush begins.
Thursday the Ford Mustang Open Track starts at a fast
pace at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. You can have fun on the track or as a spectator.
Another chance to enjoy our cars will be a car cruise leaving from the
Marriott in the evening, touring through a scenic part of Tulsa, ending with a
cruise-in where you can grab a burger at the Sonic, or listen to the Oldies at
Weber’s with a frosty mug of their own famous root beer. Be sure to
visit Brookside district eateries, especially for truly exceptional ice cream
from the Creamery at Tulsa Sips Coffee Company.
Friday the Ford Mustang Open Track continues with the return of the speed-controlled track tour, an opportunity to drive your car on the track; just not a speed. Sessions for regular open track continue. We will be having two exhibition: Vintage and Latemodel. Recent transponder technology allow us to offer a timed lap program. We will offer this late in the day. The Hallett Track Staff will be taking care of the timed laps and there will be a charge to rent the transponder. Following the day at Hallett, evening activities at the Marriott will include an informal reception, special car display, roundtable seminars, art & literature display.
Saturday is Goodyear Eagle Day at Tulsa Raceway Park,
featuring E/T bracket style racing, a Powder Puff and a cash prize
